In October 2005 Tullycarnet and Poleglass youth clubs went to Killyleagh for the weekend. We left at about 6.30 Friday night and got to Killyleagh Sailing Centre at about 7.30. Tullycarnet arrived before the Poleglass group so they got into their rooms and got unpacked. When the Poleglass group arrived we got told the rules and stuff about the centre and the actives we were going to do over the next view days. That night we just ran about having a laugh and getting to know each other better. We played a game where you have to hide in the dark and someone comes to find you but Sarah ran to the top of the steps and her foot slipped and she fell down the stairs taking Katrina and Lisa with her. It was so funny but she wrecked her back. We went to bed about 1.30 and had to get up at 8.00am for breakfast. So the next day everyone was tired and just couldn't hack getting up that early but we did anyway cause we didn't want to miss are grub.
That afternoon when we were all ready we headed out to go canoeing it was cold but it was a good craic we had a laugh in the canoes. When we got back to the centre we got changed and got our dinner then Mary came down and we did a bit about community relations. After Mary left we ran about for a bit then everyone got settled and we watched Bridgette Jone's Dairy then ran about for another bit. Then went to bed but we couldn't get to sleep cause Ciara and Melissa thought they saw a ghost and kept running into our room but it was so funny cause they were screaming at the top of their voices and they woke up the leaders.
Once everyone fell asleep it wasn't long till we were getting up again to get our breakfast. So as usual we were all tired and couldn't hack it but did anyway. After our breakfast we got ready and Sarah and Karen from Studio ON came up to show us how to set a camera up and how to film one another. That was good too, it was an experience we will never forget and its not every day people are coming round with film cameras and showing you what sort of things directors have to do to shoot a film. When Sarah and Karen left we got our clothes packed and said bubbi to each other then both groups headed off home.
